Description

Think of Studio Lighting guide as your lighting recipe cookbook. You can mix a variety of different ingredients together (angle of light, modifiers, strength of light, number of lights) for some fantastic recipes. In this guide I’ve provided you with some of my favorite lighting recipes and results. Simply flip through the pages to find the lighting scenario that fits your tastes for a particular shoot.

Need a range of high key setups? Or are you looking for more dramatic lighting patterns? Do you want to see how different modifiers change the look of a shot? All of that and much more can be found in this lighting guide. Inside you’ll find dozens of setups including a list of the gear, behind the scenes shots, lighting diagrams, and distances/power of lights— all you need to recreate the effect in the final shot.

Guide contains 60 setups.

This is a PDF file that will be sent to you electronically via email, it is not a physical item.

Nice recipe book

Like any cookbook, you probably won't find many of the dishes to your liking. There are however a lot of recipes to choose from here and that means you will almost certainly find SOMETHING to your liking. Unlike some of the other guides I have purchased from the site - this one is blissfully low on the use of gimmicky (and expensive) accessories like gobos. The use of an inexpensive snoot is really the only exception. I would give it five stars - but I purchased it looking for some beauty dish ideas and there wasn't anything new to justify the purchase. Again - like cookbooks - if you are searching for something new to make - and especially if you are new to cooking (lighting) - this is a very good, relatively inexpensive way to try something out.

Very well done for studio lighting challenges

While I enjoyed the total presentation, and Lindsay had a clear and distinct method of making her points, I am not yet able to duplicate the situation because I don't have all the equipment yet to do it. I do have a plan to purchase the basics and try some of these these ideas very soon. The program was exciting to watch. I'll start with some of the easier ones right now with what I have.

This is an Excellent book, just a little pricey.

This book has proved to be a VERY useful resource, as I learn to use my new studio lights. I have purchased a number of Lindsay Adler courses through Creative Live, but her Lighting 1, 2, 3 course I have watched over and over. This book is an excellent adjunct to that course. She is a truly talented instructor!
